Nivationist

/nīˈvāSH(ə)nist/

A person who takes consistent, focus-conscious actions towards long-term goals no matter how far he or she may be from the finish line.

Origin: It comes from the word “nivation,” which refers to the geomorphic changes of rocks and soil caused by freeze/thaw cycles of ice and snow.

“Nivationist” comes from how we can reshape ourselves through time to be better adept as we move closer to our goals. Every small step against the cold failures and challenges will show its amplified importance every spring after the ice thawed.

A Better Career Philosophy Puts “You” Back Into The Equation.

Starting or transitioning into a new career is more than just knowing what to do.

Understanding who we are is critical for us to take the right action on what we know, consistently. We are our biggest variable in playing the long game, without being bogged down by distractions, self-doubt, and burnout.

From my past failures and years of trial and error, I’ve found the 3 Nivationist Principles. These principles will help you and me start our hobby-to-career journeys. One beginner step at a time, from building a sustainable self-learning/career plans to confidently market ourselves and money online.

THE 3 NIVATIONIST PRINCIPLES

Create a Critical, Self-Loving Mindset

In a world where the struggles we may run into are ill-televised or only justified after success, it's critical to be practical on how to get to where we want from where we are now while loving ourselves amidst the challenges.
Truly own the idea of working our failures for growth and feeling less alone in our struggles with fewer distractions, burnouts, indecision, and self-doubt by tuning in on my no-filter, trial-and-error journey on how I build my career from scratch, starting out as a non-expert in the field.

We have the right to pick, choose, remove, tweak, and blend new advice, tools, and positive influences steadily and naturally into our busy schedules.

I’m not a novice in 3D but hardly an expert. I have a marketing degree but have yet to use it to build my career.

What we have Now

We all want to be better at what we do.

Behind every addictive ping from our social media, we see what the others are doing. It allows us to imagine ourselves in other people’s lives. We’re exposed to hobbies, jobs, ways of living, solutions, etc., which makes us want to try it, too. In a way, it makes our mind more creative with endless ideas, opens up new possibilities for using our time, and sometimes taps into a potential we didn’t know we had.

We have a desire to live a more multifaceted life than ever before.

Naturally, we had our fair share of motivational advice, self-help tips, learning tricks, and productivity hacks.

Who doesn’t want to live a fulfilled life?

We’ve already taken the first critical steps on our uphill journey to become who we want to be. It’s amazingly proactive, and we should continue this learning mindset.

It is just that after knowing the tips and tricks to help us move forward, there comes the inevitable journey of how to use what we know to get to where we want to be.

The caveat is,

do you want to live your life to the fullest, or are you trying to live in other people’s lives to the fullest?

The Problem within the Good

Even something good could turn into a distraction.

We may motivate ourselves to be better by imagining ourselves in other people’s lives, but it could also make us undervalue our opinions, solutions, and self-worth. We may discover new ideas and possibilities and tap into our unknown potentials, but we could also be drowning in choices, getting high on trying something new, and unable to make a firm conviction of what we really want to do. We can quickly lose sight of ourselves and our long-term goals.

No wonder we feel that we’re not in control of our lives. We’re blindly chasing the next secret to success without truly putting ourselves first.

Additionally, the picture-perfect lifestyle we see on social media starkly contrasts reality.

We know it’s simply more comfortable for people to share the good times. We know that becoming successful comes with countless failures. We know that we’re capable. The overwhelming saturation of the good does help to jump-start our endeavors.

But when we’re at our lows, the overshadowed, under-televised, or absence of the bad makes our “natural precursor of success” struggles seem out of place, and we question our progress. It slowly drags our resolve into the ground.

No wonder we think we’re not good enough, left behind, too old, and feel alone in our journey to become who we want to be.

We feel alone and easily doubt ourselves because there is a lack of resources that allow us to realistically gauge and appreciate our progress.

How I can be a part of the Help

On this site, I wish to leave as many footprints ahead as possible on our uphill journey by showing honest, continual progress and reflection.

I share what works for me and give you pointers on what you can do to make it work for you. You use my insights as a starting point and build on top of your own. If you so choose, your comments and responses are highly welcomed as valuable insights and advice on my career, too, which creates a learning environment that lets us both grow and learn from each other. A double win-win!

There are parallels we can draw from each other that make us less fearful of failures, more confident of ourselves, and in control of our own journey.

We focus on the following 3 principles:

Great Learning Never Stops Midway

It’s a cycle of exponential growth that benefits both me and you.

What I do: My past reflections/insights and advice from others will be used build my mindset, routines/systems, and living spaces. I blend in the new found wisdom into how I plan, create, teach, market, and monetize my 3D designs in the ever-changing industry landscape with digital marketing.
